Global Collaboration for Brain Health: IMPACT Holds Its Annual Meeting in London and Oxford

Researchers, professionals, and teams from Peru and the United Kingdom defined the project’s next steps for 2026–2027.

From September 29 to October 2, 2025, the IMPACT Salud consortium held its . Annual Meeting in London and Oxforda general team gathering that brought together researchers, professionals, and institutional representatives from Peru and the United Kingdom. Over four days, the team worked on evaluating the project’s progress, planning next steps, and coordinating joint strategies for 2026–2027, taking into account different possible scenarios for the project’s completion, some expected in 2026 and others potentially extending beyond.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the “Promoting Equity in Global Brain Health”workshop, which brought together leading researchers and high-level professionals from Peru, the United Kingdom, and other regions worldwide. This session offered the opportunity to engage with internationally recognized experts and reflect on equity in research, emphasizing the importance of placing Latin American voices at the center of global brain health agendas.

The meeting reinforced the spirit of collaboration and interdisciplinarity that defines the project, strengthening the sense of a consolidated team and an integrated system ready to tackle the challenges of brain health in the coming years.

With renewed energy and commitment, the IMPACT team is prepared to continue driving meaningful research and generating real impact in brain health, demonstrating that joint work and international cooperation are key to addressing the challenges of dementia.
