About us
The IMPACT project is a group of people with a vision: To strengthen health systems in Latin America and improve the quality of life of people with dementia and their caregivers. Through a 4-year study in four sites in Peru (Lima, Huancayo, Iquitos and Tumbes), and a sample of 32,000 people, it will develop technology-enabled interventions, such as an mHealth app for diagnosis, and test their integration into primary care. The project will also assess the socioeconomic burden of dementia and work to improve the quality of life for both patients and their caregivers. Collaboration with policymakers, researchers, and communities is central to its strategy. The findings are expected to contribute to a future national dementia plan in Peru.
