class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The IMPACT project is a group of people with a vision: To strengthen health systems in Latin America and improve the quality of life of people with dementia and their caregivers. Through a 4-year study in four sites in Peru (Lima, Huancayo, Iquitos and Tumbes), and a sample of 32,000 people, it will develop technology-enabled interventions, such as an mHealth app for diagnosis, and test their integration into primary care. The project  will also assess the socioeconomic burden of dementia and work to improve the quality of life for both patients and their caregivers. Collaboration with policymakers, researchers, and communities is central to its strategy. class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Dementia is a global health crisis, currently affecting over 50 million individuals worldwide, with numbers projected to soar to 130 million by 2050. This progressive cognitive decline not only burdens those diagnosed but also their families and healthcare systems, resulting in significant economic and emotional costs.\u00a0<\/p><p>The IMPACT project aims to address these challenges by using dementia as a tracer condition to strengthen health systems in Latin America. By developing a mobile health app for community health workers, IMPACT enhances early diagnosis and management of dementia and its co-morbidities. The project includes comprehensive training for health professionals and community engagement to raise awareness about dementia. Through research and innovative care models, IMPACT seeks to improve the quality of life for people with dementia (PWD) and their caregivers.<\/p><p>By prioritizing dementia care, IMPACT contributes to building sustainable, integrated health systems that can better support affected individuals and their families in Peru and beyond.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
